Tigrin are a non-human race that have similarities to cat-people, but are separate from them in that they are not a modified human subspecies, but rather a humanoid cat subspecies. They share a lot of traits with cat-people, but are definitely a separate race, and there are no known pairings of Tigrin and cat-people that have produced offspring.
They are matriarchal, but treat the males as equals in most other aspects.
Government
Their Royal Family is known as ‘the Children of Bastet’, and their queen has multiple titles, including ‘Mother’ (reserved to Tigrin), ‘Bastet’ and ‘Pharaoh’. Their current queen is Sobekneferu.
All guards and servants in the court are female, and loyalty to the court is guaranteed by leveraging the bonding that occurs when Tigrin females mate whilst in heat. This is a common practice in most noble houses as well.
